Rugs
A rug is usually a carpet with finished edges. Though there is the common perception, there is not much disparity between rugs and carpets. The only obvious difference is that carpets are normally used for floor coverings and are larger in size. Rugs are utilized for many purposes.
They can be used as foot rug, floor furnishing, sofa coverings, wall hangings and for many other decorative purposes. They are available in wide variety of shapes and sizes. Rugs are sometimes also used for special purposes. These consist of, setting up the theme of the room, lobby rugs, throws, kid room rugs etc.
Rugs are usually classified based on their design and pattern. Additionally, the approach for weaving a rug is also at times used to classify them into segments. Normally, rugs are categorized into four main categories. These consist of, traditional rugs, cotton printed rugs, tribal rugs and modern rugs. Each of these classifications has their own set of designs and patterns.
Cotton printed rugs are stylish and elite in nature. They provide unmatched appeal to floor decoration and thus insert a creative approach towards interior decoration. Cotton printed rugs are available in variety of color schemes. Cotton rugs are mainly used to provide a soothing effect in an otherwise oppressive surrounding. Alternatively, traditional rugs reflect positive vibes to the rooms’ décor.
These rugs are usually made by using wooden materials but are sometimes also crafted by using natural fibers. As the name suggests traditional rugs symbolize traditionalism to the interiors.
Although the market for rugs is big, it is not restricted only to traditional rugs or cotton printed rugs. Modern rugs are modified for people who like to color their surroundings with brightness. Modern rugs with their stylish yet elegant look are found in buildings and offices. Most of the designs for modern rugs are carried out keeping in mind that they fit easily into the décor of the room. This is also one of the main reasons for people to show preference towards modern rugs.
There are some other kinds of rugs that are capable of making the floor eye-catching; the most important amongst them is the tribal rug. It is similar to a fresh water lake amongst sand dunes. These are made by using typical bold designs and natural dye colors. The color scheme here is usually loud, which sets beautifully with the décor of the room.
You can use tribal rugs in any type of interior and they provide you awesome results. The only worry is that they are required to be placed strategically for improving the beauty of the room. Improper placing might wipe out the elegance.
Proper flooring is the answer for getting the real impact out of proper home furnishing. Rugs go a long way in making your rooms look more stylish and urban. They provide a feeling of completeness and this makes your home or for that matter, any home a sweet home.
